Making a pattern on Adobe Illustrator:

The task from digital was to make a few different patterns on Adobe Illustrator to get used to all the different tools and how the programme works. I found this a bit hard to start with but I was already very used to using photoshop so managed to work out illustrator relatively quickly. I did this by using the tips given to me and by using google and YouTube to work out how to do specific things I wanted to do. Overall I enjoyed this process and had fun just messing around and experimenting with colours and shapes and all the different and new tools I had to explore. For these patterns I started out by using the very basic shape, line and copy and paste tools as i was still very new to the programme and wanted to keep them simple.

After I had these patterns I exported them from illustrator into JPEGS so that I could open them in Photoshop. I decided to put a couple of them into photoshop to make a short GIF. To do this I opened the patterns in Photoshop, I then went to the top of the screen and clicked on the 3D tab at the top and clicked insert panorama. This then allowed me to create a video time line allowing me to select points on the timeline and move the image around to where i wanted it to move to on the next point. I decided that the yellow and red pattern I would make it a slower and more gradual moving GIF. The yellow and purple one I made faster just to experiment with the software and what it could do.

Overall I really enjoyed experimenting with these two software's and especially illustrator as I have never had a chance to use or try it out. I have also learnt that you can do many other things in Photoshop other than editing photos. Because of this I think i will try and incorporate more digital art in my work even if its just for presentation.
