ALL IN THE BEST TASTE WITH GRAYSON PERRY:

This documentary was overall very interesting and I found there was many different variety of art displayed that we wouldn't normally immediately think of being art. For example, cars. Customisation of cars is an artform that we do immediately think of as art work. Some would say that it is not art many would disagree,  in a way we could see this a decoration. These cars are often a form of self expression and this is what many artists value from their practice and is a key element of art. People spend a lot of time revamping and customising their cars and they do this not only for their own satisfaction but for others to see and enjoy or appreciate the aesthetic. These cars could almost be described as moving sculptures. They also raise the question why do people have tattoos. I think its interesting how tattoos are art that can portray a personal story or memory for all to see and this art then become a part of our identity. I also found it interesting how we spend more money on tattoos as this is a art form that will be with us forever and seen by many more than your standard piece of art hung up at home. The fact that art can be adapted to different surfaces such as skin proves that art is not confined to a canvas. When he looked into the working class appearance of women and the pre-constructed stereotypes of women that has already created for these women. This is also about self expression and creating this persona and identity by spending all this time and money on looking like they do. Almost putting on an act to fit into the constructs that society have created. Overall i enjoyed watching the documentary and hearing different viewpoints and different parts of working class society and what is considered as art in modern society.
