For my self portrait I started off painting this piece. I ended up not liking this piece as much as I wanted. I overall think this painting is a good representation of me and my personality. However I wanted to do another version as although I loved the colour palette I used and the contrast that the background had against the hair I as a person normally wears and gravitates towards darker colours. I wanted to show this side of me in my portrait and this is why I did a cool tone blue/purple version.
Although I like the other version better because of the colour contrast. I do also like this one. This is because it represents a different part of me. another reason I did a second one is because I changed my hair colour from the red to the a dark blue colour so I though by doing a second piece it would document the fact that I am constantly growing and changing as a person. Overall although the painting I did with me having red hair was my favourite, I'm glad I'm glad I did a second one as I think they both represent me.
